Heads up to snowmobilers and other recreationists using the 8 Mile SnoPark this winter.  There will be commercial tree removal operations in the 8 Mile drainage along the following roads:  FSR 5130 8 Mile, FSR 5310100 Buck Lake, FSR 5130300 Lamb Butte, and FSR 5140 Falls Creek roads.

Contractors have plowed portions of the road in order to move equipment into place, and recreationists can expect to see machinery and tree removal operations throughout the winter. Operations have started on the 5130 and 53100100 roads. You can expect intermittent log truck traffic on these roads, in addition to tree felling, skidding, and processing.

To ensure access to groomed snow routes, a temporary parking area will be provided up the 8 Mile drainage north of Nice Campground, at the northern  intersection of the Buck Lake loop road (junction of FSR 5310100 Buck Lake and FSR 5220 road to Sweetgrass Butte).  Parking will remain available at the 8 Mile SnoPark for access to the west and east Chewuch groomed routes
